I’m Jim Kegley, the photographer behind JDK Designs and the aerial cinematography work of Area 51 Drones.
My photographs explore the lights of Las Vegas and the landscapes of the American Southwest: Grand Canyon, Moab and Page. My creative work also spans film, original music and live production.
A different perspective on Las Vegas.
My drone experience began in 2012 as a direct importer of DJI aircraft in Las Vegas. I sold thousands of drones and offered customers free, hands-on instruction.
In 2019, I was one of just two operators participating in the KLAS airspace authorization beta test, with detailed flight-area mapping and safety planning near the Las Vegas Strip. I also served as the primary drone operator documenting the Sphere’s construction over multiple years.
